Dear Parents and Community Members:

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year!  This is a transformative year at Hubbard Elementary. I am pleased to begin the academic year with some great news! We were formally approved/recommended by the Board of Education on June 22, 2018 to open a new STEAM Magnet Center in the fall of 2019-20 school year. There will be future parent and community information meetings to keep you posted. Stay tuned!

We are a School for Advanced Studies (SAS) and future STEAM Magnet Center where our focal point is rigorous developmentally appropriate instruction for all students. The gifted, general and special education programs at Hubbard are enhanced by our full arts program that includes music, dance, theater and visual arts. Hubbard Elementary has a strong parent/teacher/student partnership that supports a uniform policy as part of our school-wide positive behavior plan. All students are required to wear a uniform consisting of navy blue or white tops and dark blue or khaki bottoms.

In addition, we are expanding our School for Advanced Studies (SAS) program to include grades Kindergarten through fifth. We are continuing the Early Literacy & Language Plan (ELLP) that focuses on developing strong readers in the early years, Kindergarten through 2nd grade.  The full arts program for all students as part of our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) focus is already in its fourth year of implementation. Hubbard Elementary offers a wealth of after school enrichment programs such as the Robotics Club, Homework Club, Reading Club for students & Parents, Coding Club, Science/Math Club, Good News Club and Boys Scouts Club. Our instructional focus is prevention rather than intervention where early literacy reading skills are essential to ensure that all students are reading fluently and critically by second grade and beyond.

Thank you for visiting our school’s website.. Check in regularly for updates. You are invited to visit our school.  Per district policy and security reasons, you MUST register in the main office prior to entering campus. Please refer to our Visitors Policy for more information.

We are in the digital age of teaching and learning.  The Parent Portal is now available where you can view your child’s attendance, grades, update emergency contact information and complete the free meal application on-line. Computers are available in the parent center for easy access to  District service.  Please click on the following link to register today!

Remember that regular attendance is important when it comes to academic achievement. Please ensure that your child attends school every day on time.  Our attendance goal is: 7 or fewer cumulative absences a year.  Students will receive excellent (1 absence , 2 tardies or early leaves per reporting period) and perfect (0 absences or tardies) attendance awards during Eagle Pride ceremonies for meeting or exceeding the attendance goal. Here’s a helpful tip to improve attendance…get plenty of rest, go to bed early, wash your hands often to prevent illness and eat well balanced meals with plenty of fruits and veggies for a healthy body and mind ready to learn.

Again welcome to the new 2018-19 school year! Get ready to soar high Hubbard Eagles.

Dress for success!

Respectfully,
